Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series has become substantially more expensive in India. Multiple reports based on updated channel pricing say the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra have received a flat ₹20,000 increase across all listed storage variants, with the revised pricing effective from September 18, 2026.
India Today and Gadgets Now report that the ₹20,000 increase applies to all seven listed configurations. That pushes the standard Galaxy S26 above ₹1 lakh and takes the highest-capacity S26 Ultra beyond ₹2 lakh.

Why you may have seen a different ₹12,000 Galaxy S26 price hike
Earlier reporting on September 17 said the base Galaxy S26 alone would rise by ₹12,000 from September 20, taking its 256GB version to ₹99,999. Moneycontrol was among the outlets reporting that pricing. Newer September 18 reports subsequently cited a broader ₹20,000 revision covering the entire S26 family and taking effect earlier. Buyers should therefore check Samsung’s current checkout price or an authorised retailer’s final invoice rather than relying on an older price card.
Why are Galaxy S26 prices going up?
Samsung has not publicly provided a detailed India-specific explanation for this particular revision. The increase comes during a wider rise in flagship smartphone pricing, however, with memory and component costs under pressure as AI infrastructure demand absorbs more semiconductor capacity. That broader backdrop is important, but it should not be treated as an official Samsung explanation unless the company says so.
Should you still buy the Galaxy S26 series?
The new list prices materially change the value equation. At ₹1,07,999, the standard S26 is no longer competing in the same price band it occupied at launch. Buyers should compare actual street prices, bank offers and exchange values, because retailer discounts can leave a large gap between the revised list price and the amount paid at checkout.
The revision also follows a sharp iPhone 17 price increase in India. Shoppers who want Samsung’s current-generation software and Galaxy AI features without paying S26 flagship pricing can also compare the Galaxy S26 FE before deciding.
What the Galaxy S26 offers
Samsung’s original India launch information put the standard Galaxy S26 at ₹87,999. The phone uses a 6.3-inch AMOLED display and Samsung’s Exynos 2600 platform in India, while the series emphasizes Galaxy AI features, long software support and deeper integration with assistants including Gemini and Perplexity.
What buyers should watch next
The immediate question is whether online and offline retailers fully move to the revised list prices or continue using discounts to keep effective prices closer to their previous levels. Because promotions and stock can change quickly, compare the final payable price across Samsung’s official store and authorised retailers before buying. The ₹20,000 revision is significant, but the real purchase decision depends on the price available when you check out.
